First Aid at Work Course Overview

Our First Aid at Work course is a Level 3 Awarded Qualification, designed to meet Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requirements through a blended learning approach. This format combines a 6-hour self-study e-learning program with two practical days of in-person training. The structure ensures that all course content can be effectively assessed in a practical setting by our qualified trainers.

Course Features:

Blended Learning: Participants will complete 6 hours of self-study online before attending the final practical day.
Practical Application: Two days of hands-on training to consolidate learning and ensure competency in first aid practices.
Qualified Trainers: Instruction provided by experienced professionals who assess learners' skills and knowledge.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Our First Aid at Work (FAW) course will consist of the following:

Two practical days instructor-led teaching and one eLearning module to be completed before your second practical day.
Day One practical will consist of the following topics:

Roles and Responsibilities of a First Aider
Relevant health and safety regulations
Assessing an emergency situation safely
Prioritise of care
Managing an unresponsive casualty (Breathing)
Managing an unresponsive casualty (Not Breathing)
Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation - CPR (Adults)
Automated External Defibrillator - AED
Managing an obstructed airway
Seizures
Severe bleeding and Hypovolemic Shock
Minor injuries

eLearning (6-hours of content) must be completed prior to the commencement of day two practical day or before the start of the course. Consisting of the following topics:
- Sepsis
- Drowning
- Poisoning
- Asthma
- Diabetes
- Abdominal and Chest Injuries
- Head Injuries
- Sprains and Strains
- Bites and Stings
- Electric Shock
- Fainting and Panic Attacks
- Extreme Temperatures
Day Two practical will consist of the following topics:
- Day one recap and e-learning recap
- Fractures and Dislocations
- Spinal Injuries
- Further Wounds and Bleeding
- Strokes
- Anaphylaxis

Instructor-led observation for all practical assessments

CERTIFICATION

On completion of the course learners will receive their Level 3 - First Aid at Work Certificate via email.

Your certificate will be valid for a period of 3-Years from the date of approval and will comply with HSE Regulations ‘Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981
