Course Overview

The First Aid for Activities, Level 2 Awarded Qualification focuses on first aid techniques specifically for incidents resulting from physical activities, including sports and outdoor pursuits. This course aims to equip learners with a solid understanding of core first aid principles and practical techniques necessary for applying first aid safely. Participants will learn to alleviate minor injuries and support casualties while awaiting assistance from Paramedic emergency services.

As an additional benefit, subject to your primary sport activity an additional FREE bespoke module will be bolted on that includes recognising specific injuries related to your sport.

Practical Application: 2 days comprehensive instructor led training (6 hours Day 1 and 2) will solidify learners' understanding and ensure their competency in first aid practices.
Qualified Trainers: Instruction is delivered by experienced professionals who assess the skills and knowledge of each learner.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Our First Aid for Activities course will consist of the following:

2 days of guided learning hours (6 hours each day)

Day 1 theory and practical assessments cover the following topics

Roles and Responsibilities of a First Aider
Relevant health and safety regulations
Assessing an emergency situation safely
Prioritise of care
Managing an unresponsive casualty (Breathing)
Managing an unresponsive casualty (Not Breathing)
Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation - CPR (Children and Adults)
Automated External Defibrillator – AED

Day 2 theory and practical assessments cover the following topics

Conducting a Secondary Survey
Sprains, Strains and Fractures
Head Injuries (includes seizures)
Chest and Abdominal Injuries
Burns
Eye Injuries
Poisoning
Major Illness
Anaphylaxis
Extreme Temperatures

Your primary sport – Recognising Injuries and Symptoms (bespoke FREE bolt-on)
Instructor-led observation for all practical assessments
Closed book Assessment Exam

CERTIFICATION

On completion of the course learners will receive their Level 2 - First Aid for Activities Certificate via email.

Your certificate will be valid for a period of 3-Years from the date of approval and will comply with HSE Regulations ‘Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981
