WHAT TO EXPECT

Our First Aid for Activities course will consist of the following:

  • 2 days of guided learning hours (6 hours each day)

  • Day 1 theory and practical assessments cover the following topics

    • Roles and Responsibilities of a First Aider

    • Relevant health and safety regulations

    • Assessing an emergency situation safely

    • Prioritise of care

    • Managing an unresponsive casualty (Breathing)

    • Managing an unresponsive casualty (Not Breathing)

    • Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation - CPR (Children and Adults)

    • Automated External Defibrillator – AED

  • Day 2 theory and practical assessments cover the following topics

    • Conducting a Secondary Survey

    • Sprains, Strains and Fractures

    • Head Injuries (includes seizures)

    • Chest and Abdominal Injuries

    • Burns

    • Eye Injuries

    • Poisoning

    • Major Illness

    • Anaphylaxis

    • Extreme Temperatures

  • Your primary sport – Recognising Injuries and Symptoms (bespoke FREE bolt-on)

  • Instructor-led observation for all practical assessments

  • Closed book Assessment Exam

CERTIFICATION

On completion of the course learners will receive their Level 2 - First Aid for Activities Certificate via email.

Your certificate will be valid for a period of 3-Years from the date of approval and will comply with HSE Regulations ‘Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981
